NFPA Compliant Components

NFPA 69 Compliance - When it comes to explosion protection the options vary depending on application and the severity of dust. Generally speaking, Passive Protection is a very efficient, and cost effective, way of spark elimination and/or preventing a Deflagration from returning to the process via interconnecting ductwork.

NFPA 69 - Passive Protection - Spark Arrestor

  • Mounted in the ductwork, separating the airflow to create a churning,
  • Highly turulent airflow allows the spark to separate and continue cooling rapidly

NFPA 69 - Passive Protection - Back Blast Damper

  • One-way valve
  • Only allows air flow through one direction

NFPA 69 - Passive Protection - Explosion Vent (Panel)

  • Pressure relief system desgined to burst when blast pressure exceed panel rating
  • Vents pressure from deflagration event

NFPA 69 - Passive Protection - Rotary Valve

  • 8 vanes recommended
  • built to withstand maximum anticipated pressure
  • required clearance of <0.2 mm (0.0079")
